Jonathan Dunne received his B.Sc. degree in Computing and Statistics from the Open University, UK, in 2014 and his Ph.D. (Mathematics & Statistics) from Maynooth University in 2018.

He has worked in IBM for over 20 years as a Software Developer, Systems and Performance Engineer, and currently as a Principal Data Scientist.

Jonathan has co-authored over 20 conferences and Journal Papers in Cloud Outage Detection and Network QoS. He is also the holder of 270 software patents. His research interests include Service time Modelling and Queueing Theory. He also holds Level 3 – Distinguished Data Scientist certification from the Open Group.  He is currently a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).

Alessio Plebe earned a degree in Electronic Engineering in 1981, and a PhD in Philosophy of Language in 2004, since 2005 he’s been an Associate Professor at the Department of Cognitive Science of the University of Messina.

His main research field is neural computation, applied to modelling several cognitive functions. In the field of vision process, he developed realistic neural models of complex pattern responses in visual area V2, and models of object recognition.

In the field of language process, he developed several models of phenomena during early language acquisition. Other neurocomputational models he developed, explore the boundary between language and vision, like in the simulation of colour terms acquisition.

Konrad Paul Körding is a German neuroscientist and professor at the University of Pennsylvania. He is known for his contributions to the fields of motor control, neural data methods, and computational neuroscience.

Kording obtained both a diploma degree and a PhD in physics at ETH Zurich in 1997 and 2001, respectively. He then worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Collegium Helveticum in Zurich and at University College London, followed by a Heisenberg Fellow position at MIT. He joined the faculty at Northwestern University and the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago where he was a professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation, physiology, and applied mathematics.

In 2017, he joined the faculty at the University of Pennsylvania with joint appointments in the Department of Neuroscience and Department of Bioengineering.

Vincent C. Müller is Professor for Philosophy of Technology at the Technical University of Eindhoven – as well as Senior Research Fellow at the University of Leeds, Turing Fellow at the Alan Turing Institute in London, President of the European Society for Cognitive Systems and Chair of the euRobotics topics group on ‘ethical, legal and socio-economic issues’. He was Professor at Anatolia College/ACT, Stanley J. Seeger Fellow at Princeton University and James Martin Research Fellow at the University of Oxford. He studied philosophy with cognitive science, linguistics, and history at the universities of Marburg, Hamburg, London, and Oxford.

Müller writes mainly on the philosophy and ethics of artificial intelligence (AI), philosophy of computing, philosophy of language, applied ethics, and cognitive science. He frequently presents invited papers around the world, and he has organised 25 conferences and workshops. In 2022, he was awarded the personal science prize “Alexander von Humboldt Professor” on philosophy and ethics of AI together with a professorship at FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg and matching funds from the university.

Merve Hickok is the founder of AIethicist.org. She is an independent consultant & trainer on AI ethics, focused on the bias, social justice, governance, and accountability. She aims to create awareness, build capacity, and advocate for ethical and responsible development & use of AI.

Merve is also the Research Director at the Centre for AI & Digital Policy, providing AI policy research, analysis and advisory, Data Ethics lecturer at the University of Michigan, Member of the board of directors for Northern Nevada International Centre at the University of Nevada, Northern Nevada’s refugee resettlement agency to help displaced persons and victims of human trafficking, as well as organizing programs for international delegations. She has been recognized by a number of organizations – most recently as one of the 100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics™ – 2021.
